An excellent final result was achieved for this patient just weeks before her wedding day! A night time habit of clenching and grinding had worn the edges of her teeth unevenly creating a worn and aged appearance. The new smile was created with 8 porcelain veneers.

This makeover may not be white or bright enough for some but truly cosmetic dentistry is an attempt to recreate nature. What is amazing with this transformation is that it has been achieved by placing crowns and veneers on only four teeth. The impact is remarkable and yet blends invisibly with the surrounding dentition. This patient received excellent value for a relatively small investment.

These photos should be studied carefully. While the preoperative view certainly shows a full adult dentition that is really white in color this patient came to me not long after having 10 Lumieres placed! She was unhappy because she felt that her teeth did not look or feel natural. While it is certainly not common to have 10 upper teeth treated, I would say that it is even less likely to have a patient want to make that commitment twice in a short time span! However upon examination it was determined that indeed the restored teeth were thick and bulky and her dissatisfaction by far outweighed the marketing appeal of 'no prep veneers'. The treatment plan involved replacing all 10 Lumieres with porcelain veneers producing a final result as seen which is more beautiful, feminine, and natural feeling for the patient.

This was a beautiful makeover for a very beautiful woman in her early 60's. The treatment plan included crowns or veneers on eight upper teeth and simply bonding the lower anterior teeth. We may eventually place veneers on the lower teeth too but right now the patient is very happy and loves to flash a smile that anyone would envy!

These veneers are painstakingly placed at chairside. This is an extremely difficult thing to accomplish and is rarely done for that reason. My training and the journey towards Accreditation with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has prepared me to be able to deliver this type of dentistry when indicated. I am sure that you can imagine that the skill required to do this certainly transcends to all the other areas of clinical care in my general dental practice and the procedures that I do each day.

You are never too old for cosmetic dentistry! The makeover of this 68 year old patient was completed by placing only 4 veneers. The result is a more beautiful smile that blends beautifully with the surrounding natural dentition.

I have included this view as many people underestimate the impact that old and discolored fillings can have on the smile when viewed from different angles. This makeover was part of a comprehensive rehabilitation that included orthodontic therapy, orthognathic (jaw) surgery, and final restoration with porcelain crowns and veneers. The complete makeover was stunning and this patient now reports to be completely satisfied with her smile.

This smile has been dramatically enhanced with a combination of porcelain veneers and crowns as required based on the tooth structure that is remaining. The color of the new smile is brighter and the overall look is that of a more youthful smile.

So many people think that a black line or shadow at the gumline is normal and inevitable. Today the improvements in dental ceramics provides our patients with a final result which is lasting and very natural in appearance.

For this 43 year old woman, this result was accomplished through a combination of veneers and crowns on only four teeth. As well, she had the black amalgam fillings removed from the premolar teeth to complete the makeover. Friends and family of this lady constantly comment on her new haircut, or losing weight...!!!

The above four pictures are of the same patient in which a comprehensive aesthetic smile makeover was completed. The existing porcelain fused to metal crowns were replaced with all porcelain crowns. As well, to create an ideal final appearance, adjacent teeth were veneered for a total of six teeth on the lower teeth and eight on the upper teeth.
